SmartEstimate subscription and software terms
Review draft — 1 November 2026. This page is prepared for review and is not yet the final contract. Final licensing, order and privacy details must be confirmed before sales use.
About Besteld
Besteld Ltd is registered in England and Wales, company number 11137816. VAT registration number: 323 9657 82. Our registered office is 52 Ferney Road, East Barnet, Barnet, England, EN4 8LE. Contact us at Email Besteld ([email protected]). These terms cover SmartEstimate subscriptions purchased directly from Besteld.
Your order and agreement
Before payment, we will provide an order summary identifying the software version, supported system requirements, subscription dates, five-computer licence entitlement, total price including applicable VAT, payment arrangements and included support. We will provide these terms and an order confirmation in a format you can retain. A website enquiry does not place an order. Any agreed variation must be recorded in writing. Consumer rights cannot be reduced by an order summary.
Five licences
Each subscription permits installation and use on up to five computers belonging to the purchasing business or individual. A licence may be transferred when a computer is replaced, provided SmartEstimate is removed from the previous computer and the subscription remains within the five-computer limit. Licences are for the customer’s own use and must not be resold, sublicensed or shared outside the purchasing organisation or household. Besteld retains ownership of the software; customers retain ownership of their own data and documents.
Subscription term and manual renewal
Subscriptions are available for one month or one year. Renewal requires a new payment: we do not automatically renew or automatically charge you. We will send renewal reminders using your contact details. The expiry date remains the date in your confirmation even if a reminder is not received. You may decline renewal without a cancellation notice or penalty. Continued licensed use after expiry requires renewal; the order summary will explain any access or export limitations before purchase.
Prices and introductory offer
Standard prices are £29.99 per month or £299.99 per year, excluding VAT. The total including applicable VAT will be confirmed before payment. Subscriptions started by 31 December 2026 receive 50% off the initial paid term only: one month for a monthly subscription or one year for an annual subscription. Renewals are at the full standard price disclosed before the new payment. We will confirm the rounded discounted amount and VAT on your order. Price changes do not alter a term already paid for.
Your estimates, invoices and backups
Estimates and invoices are stored on your computers. Besteld cannot access those locally stored records and does not provide a hosted backup of them. Keep independent backups and export records you need before uninstalling or allowing a subscription to expire. Do not send confidential customer records in a support request unless a separate arrangement has been agreed. Backup responsibilities do not remove any rights or remedies you have if our software is faulty.
Using estimates, quotations and invoices
Review quantities, dimensions, supplier prices, selling prices, margins, VAT, invoice references and payment stages before relying on or issuing a document. Internet product-search results and supplier information must be checked for accuracy, currency and suitability. SmartEstimate assists your work and does not replace professional construction, accounting or tax advice. An issue confirmation or register entry is not evidence that an invoice has been paid. Features and limitations of the supplied version will be described before purchase.
Support and updates
Contact Email Besteld for support, describing the version, problem and steps to reproduce it without sending sensitive data. Included support, update arrangements and compatibility requirements will be stated before purchase. No guaranteed response time or uninterrupted operation is promised unless expressly agreed. This does not limit any obligation to provide software or services that meet the contract and applicable law.
Consumer cancellation
You are a consumer if you purchase wholly or mainly outside your trade, business, craft or profession. A sole trader purchasing mainly for business purposes is normally a business customer. For a qualifying consumer distance purchase, you normally have 14 days after the day the contract is made to cancel. Email us with your name, order reference and a clear statement that you wish to cancel; you may use the form below but do not have to. Where cancellation is valid, we will refund the amount due within the applicable statutory deadline, normally within 14 days of receiving your cancellation, using the original payment method unless otherwise agreed and without a refund fee.
Starting a consumer download early
We will not begin supply of paid downloadable digital content within the cancellation period unless you expressly request early supply and acknowledge that you will lose the change-of-mind cancellation right once supply begins. These choices must be collected separately before supply and confirmed in your contract confirmation. Merely accepting these terms does not give that consent. If you do not give that consent, supply will wait until the cancellation period ends. Any separately supplied services must follow the cancellation rules applicable to those services. Rights relating to faulty or misdescribed software remain.
Problems and refunds
Tell us promptly if the software does not match its description or is faulty. Consumer statutory remedies, which may include repair, replacement or an appropriate price reduction or refund, are unaffected. Business customers should contact us to agree an appropriate remedy for a failure to meet the contract. Outside legal rights or an express written refund agreement, stopping use does not itself entitle a customer to a refund of the remaining paid term.
Responsible use and ending the agreement
Do not use the software unlawfully, infringe others’ rights or bypass licence controls. Restrictions do not prohibit activities allowed by law. If there is a material breach, we will explain it and allow a reasonable opportunity to remedy it where appropriate before ending the licence. Ending the licence does not transfer ownership of your data to Besteld or remove accrued rights.
Responsibility and legal rights
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded. Consumer statutory rights are unaffected. We have not included a blanket exclusion of responsibility for incorrect calculations or faulty software. Any separately proposed business liability limit must be expressly agreed and comply with applicable law.
Complaints and governing law
Contact Email Besteld with your order reference and the outcome you seek. We will investigate and respond. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. Consumers retain mandatory protections and rights to bring proceedings in the courts available to them under applicable law, including where they live in Scotland or Northern Ireland.
